Wheat Lachha Paratha

Servings- 8 parathas
Prep time- 30 minutes
Cooking time- 10 minutes

Ingredients

Whole wheat flour(atta)- 2 cups
Salt- to taste
Sugar- 1 teaspoon
Yogurt- 1 tablespoon
Water
Ghee

Method

  • In a wide bowl, add atta, salt, sugar, yogurt, oil and water at intervals to knead in to dough.
  • Close with a lid and let the dough sit for 5 minutes.
  • Knead again for few minutes, close it and let it sit for another 5 minutes.
  • Knead it for the 3rd time and let it sit for 1½ to 2 hours.
  • Now, knead one more time and make balls that fit in your palm.
  • Flatten the balls, dab ghee all over on its surface.
  • Gently makes slit for every half inch using a knife and fold like pleats.
  • Roll and keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
  • Flatten them gently but not so thin.
  • Toast it on a tawa. Spread some ghee while toasting.
    Serve hot.
